Xiu Ching Saw
Hi everyone, my name is Xiu Ching (sounds like Siu Ching) and I am an enthusiastic member of the team at Connecting Dots For Kids. I am a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist with a Masters of Speech Pathology from La Trobe University and have a background in neuroscience with a Bachelor of Biomedicine from University of Melbourne. I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting children and their families through CDFK and am looking forward to meeting yours!
As a speech pathologist, I endeavour to individualise sessions and resources to the child’s needs and interests and am always keen to continuously develop and upskill myself to provide the best possible services to the kids I work with. I have completed additional training in dyslexia, mental health support, DIR-floortime, and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). (future: paediatric feeding, bilingualism)
I am passionate about working with developing communities in supporting their education and literacy, and have founded an online literacy program for refugee children as well as volunteered as a tutor in Cambodia, Malaysia and Australia in the past.
When I am not at work, you can find me cooking up a storm in the kitchen, socialising with friends or creating ceramics.
